The Japanese Garden is a serene addition to the John D. Rockefeller estate in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. The garden is featured in the upcoming book The Rockefeller Family Gardens. The period Mark Twain dubbed "the Gilded Age" was one of extreme wealth and ostentation, of robber barons amassing great fortunes, of glaring chasms between rich and poor.
